How to Find a Hobby You Like (Article 6)

As a freelancer, it’s important to take some time to develop your own interests and hobbies. After all, working as a freelancer can be extremely hectic and can leave little time for anything other than your client work. So it’s important to find something that makes you happy and puts you in a positive mood.

While the internet can be a great place to find new hobbies, it can also be a huge time suck if you aren’t careful. So before you get started, think about what type of hobbies you enjoy the most and make sure that you will actually have time to pursue them.

That said, if you do decide to start a hobby, here are a few things to consider:

Think about the amount of time you have to spend on your hobby. If you have a lot of free time, maybe it’s best to go with a more traditional hobby like art or writing. But if you don’t have much free time, then maybe it’s better to choose something that’s a little more time-intensive like cooking or sewing. Whatever you decide, make sure that you’re not going to get sucked into a “treat yo self” mentality. Your hobby should be something that you enjoy doing.

Think about the skills you need to become an expert in your hobby. Some hobbies are easier to pick up than others. For example, if you want to learn how to sew, there are plenty of tutorials and videos out there that can help you get started. But if you want to start your own business and you’re an expert in that field, you may have to find a mentor.

Think about whether or not your hobby can actually pay the bills. A lot of hobbies are great for personal development and for giving you a sense of accomplishment. But they may not be very lucrative, at least not in the short term. So think carefully about whether or not your hobby is going to make you enough money to keep your freelance business afloat.

So take some time to figure out what you like and what’s right for you. And don’t forget to enjoy your hobby! You deserve it!
