How to Garden, When You Have Too Much Water. August 25, 2021
Unusual weather everywhere damages the garden, in our country, it is very difficult to move the garden because we don’t have too much wet weather. We have to arrange the water to keep our gardens green and fresh.
According to the above article, there are three ways we can correct the problem of too much water, and we can use one, or all three, in the same garden, they are the followings.
Use a waterway to drain the water, use the pipe or place the pipes so water is in it will flow to in the lower area. A third way to give your plants more air is to raise them above the water, it means raising the roots.
The above article reported by Lee Reich was reported for the Associated Press and Jill Robbin adapted it for Learning English by the editor Susan Shand.

  3. I have a very small garden; I maintain it myself. My garden has grass and seasonal plants flowers and some evergreen plants. I love roses and have some flowerpots of roses.

A summary of “How to Garden When You Have Too Much Water”
An article wrote by I’m Jill Robbins. August 28, 2021
Unusual weather this summer has affected many gardens across the United States. For many, the problem is not enough rain, for others it is too much. In some gardens, water sits on the soil surface or the soil remains wet for hours after the rain stops. We can take one of two actions to solve this problem: to move the garden to a place where water drains better, or if you want to keep your garden where it is, you may to plant yellow flag iris, sweet flag, marshmallow, marsh marigold, or other plants that they like soft and moist soils.
If on contrary, you want to grow tomatoes, roses and marigolds in this type of soil, you have to introduce a little air into the soil, facilitating water drainage, so that the roots of these plants can breathe. You could use any of these three techniques or combine them, to correct the problem of excess water in the same garden:
    • Using waterways (furrows in the ground), making ditches to drain water to lower ground.
    • Use pipes with small holes, buried underground. The pipes must be made to bend easily and the holes in it must allow water to pass through. These pipes are placed so that the water flows to a lower area.
    • Raise the roots. For this, you can plant the plants in raised mounds of soil, often called “beds,” just wide enough to allow the roots to spread out. This technique is very good for vegetables and flowers.
    Thank you Maestro
